Development / Institutional Advancement Manager
(32 HRS with 80% benefits)

Expanded Mental Health Services of Chicago NFP, the founding organization of The Kedzie Center, seeks a part-time development manager to coordinate fundraising and donor relations for EMHS. EMHS operates the first and third community-funded mental health clinics in Chicago, offering comprehensive mental health services tailored to the needs of its community regardless of their ability to pay. It also provides community education and engagement to residents on the northwest side of Chicago. This position offers an opportunity to support innovative, culturally responsive services that are expanding and transforming the mental health landscape of Chicago. This position reports to the CEO and works closely with the Board to support our fundraising goals. The ideal candidate has fundraising experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and is able to work both independently and collaboratively.  An appreciation for mental health equity is a plus! The position is currently structured as follows: Communications 25%, Donor/Board Relations 15%, Donor database management and reporting 15%, Fundraising Event and Campaign Support 30%, Foundation research and grant support 15%.

This position has the potential to grow to a 40-hour position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support communications to donors and supporters via newsletters, email and in coordination with social media specialist.

  • Support individual giving to include gift acknowledgment, stewardship efforts, and setting up site visits with CEO/Board.

  • Manage up to four giving campaigns (FY, Annual Event, End of Year) per year.

  • Manage the donor database to include updating, generating reports to understand and follow giving trends. 

  • Support fundraising event planning and execution, to include support of the Board and the Host Committee.

  • Assist in securing event sponsorships and in-kind donations, collaborating with team to maximize ticket sales and contributions.

  • Identify and manage grants that support our mission. 

  • Support the team in coordinating volunteer opportunities (i.e., host committee, advisory council).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required or previous fundraising or transferrable experience of 3 years. 

  • Experience with donor databases, Bonterra (formerly Network for Good) a plus.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with attention to detail and nuance. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships. 

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft office skills).

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.

  • Knowledge of fundraising and event management. 

  • Knowledge of community mental health or health, a plus.

  • Basic design skills using Power Point or Canva, a plus.

  • Hybrid position with some remote work hours possible. 

  • $24-30/hour commensurate with experience and skills.

  • At 32 hours, eligible for prorated benefits.

Clinical Supervisor

Expanded Mental Health Services of Chicago NFP, the founding organization of The Kedzie Center, seeks a dynamic, community-minded experienced Licensed Clinician to join our team. This position supports our mission of increasing access to culturally informed quality mental health care to residents of Chicago’s northwest side. The LoSAH Center of Hope/LoSAH Centro de Esperanza will be the third community-funded clinic in Chicago that provides individual, family, and group therapy, psychiatric care, and case management for as long as needed regardless of the client’s ability to pay (www.losahcenter.org). This is an opportunity to join our opening team as we create a new community-funded mental health center.

The ideal candidate will have experience with clinical supervision and administrative work, an interest in and commitment to community mental health and working with adults, children, and their families. This experienced Licensed clinician will provide a variety of clinical services to include supervision, therapy, school-based psychoeducation, process groups and community interventions. Individuals with interest in an approach that emphasizes depth, insight, and relationships while also acknowledging the psychosocial impact of contextual factors are encouraged to apply. Desired Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in clinical field required (social work, counseling, marriage & family, psychology).

  • Licensure in Illinois as an LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, PsyD, or Ph.D.

  • Skill in reflective supervision from an integrated psychodynamic and systems perspective strongly preferred.

  • Ability to provide clinical services in Spanish encouraged to apply but not required.

  • Interest in providing group and community interventions.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams.   

Responsibilities/Essential Duties: 

  • Work alongside Site Director in providing clinical coverage at the clinic up to two evenings a week; some remote/flexible hours possible.

  • Assist Site Director in overseeing general and clinical practices of the clinic.

  • Provide clinical supervision to interns, provisionally licensed or licensed therapists.

  • Carry a caseload of psychotherapy clients and co-facilitate groups, as needed (i.e., parent-child play groups, child or adolescent groups, parent education workshops).

  • Take central role in intake assessment and assignment of new clients, as needed.

  • Develop collaborative relationships with local organizations such as schools, social service agencies, health providers, to support client work and community wellness.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with other clinicians in meeting client needs and goals.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary staff meetings, clinical supervision, weekly clinical case conference and professional development training.

  • Participate in providing community mental health education and prevention.

  • Support program evaluation for quality assurance and grant compliance.

  • Maintain records and compliance with agency and state requirements.

  • Assist with clinical/administrative activities as needed to achieve organizational mission.
